"Boldly adventurous, audacious, and rebellious." - FearNet

“PollyGrind is unique in that it selects films that live on the edges, margins and in the shadows and brings them to the attention of mainstream distributors. That's the miracle of what Chad Clinton Freeman's built in PollyGrind, a festival not about pedigree or stars but about imagination, creativity and ideas.” - Albert Pyun

Fifth Annual PollyGrind Film Festival
in Las Vegas, Nevada
October 16-18, 2014

“One of the legitimate champions of truly independent filmmaking.” - Weng's Chop

PollyGrind is Las Vegas' Premiere Underground Film Festival. We are in our fifth year and continue to learn and grow from each previous year so that we can best live up to our reputation as a film festival of a different breed.

We are always on the lookout for new talented filmmakers and try to spotlight as many different types of projects as we can. In living up to that concept, we offer special discounted categories for women and girl filmmakers, all filmmakers under 18. We also offer discounted entries to debut and sophomore features that have not had world premieres, as well as films that have been rejected from other festivals. We also have a screenplay competition.

In addition, award winners from the previous year receive a waived entry fee and filmmakers that win one of our big annual awards nab free entries for life.

We also continue to be a Withoutabox.com partner and an IMDb qualifier.

But more importantly, we don't just make selections and screen films; we champion projects and their makers. PollyGrind is about artistic freedom and the duality of life. For every good thing, there is a bad. But for every bad thing, there is also a good. The festival itself is about taking nothing and turning it into something creative or taking a negative and making it positive. Let's keep the indie fight alive, explore creativity, and celebrate artistic freedom.

MovieMaker magazine named PollyGrind to its 2012 list of 25 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee. The festival was also named MovieMaker's 2013 Top 5 Coolest Experiemntal/Underground Film Festivals and it's 2014 list of 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee.

Honored in 2013 with the first ever Corey Taylor Talks award for "always supporting the underdog," the film festival is also a member of Film Exchange, a multi-market screening network comprised of regional U.S. and International film festivals. Select winners at PollyGrind advance to screen at the RxSM Self-Medicated Film Expo (RxSM), which takes place in Austin, Texas each year alongside South by Southwest.

PollyGrind has seen more than 80 of its official selections land distribution deals with Lions Gate, Troma Entertainment, Alternative Cinema, Whacked Movies, Chemical Burn, Wild Eye Releasing, Breaking Glass Pictures, Sundance, Showtime, Autonomy Pictures, Midnight Releasing, Modern American Cinema, Media Blasters, Maya Entertainment, R Squared, IFC Midnight, Synapse Films and many more. Distribution contracts and consultations were awarded to winners in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Starting in 2014, feature film official selections at the festival will also be looked at for distribution through its new label PollyGrind Presents, while short films will be considered for compilation releases through a number of outlets.

And what better place for the ultimate film festival than Las Vegas, the home of glitz, glam, filth and sin, as well as cult filmmakers Ted V. Mikels, Albert Pyun, David Schmoeller, Christopher Webster, Danny Draven and the late Ray Dennis Steckler.

Taking place in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world, PollyGrind is a community of creative individuals, created by filmmakers, that celebrates individuality, diversity, creativity and empowerment.

For those that are involved in or support independent filmmaking and those that love cult, horror, sci-fi, exploitation, arthouse, cool, edgy, sexy, off kilter, dark, innovative and bloody works of cinema, here is your chance to be apart of the revolution that is known as PollyGrind.

Grind on,
Chad Clinton Freeman,
Creator & Director of the PollyGrind

"Specializes in all things alternative, with a wide variety of films not shown elsewhere." - MovieMaker

"Ignore everything that doesn’t serve the honoring of your purpose. Not ignore as in deny reality - ignore as in find a way to keep your eyes on the purpose at the end of the tunnel no matter what is pressing up against you. We lose our way when we get so lost in our distractions that we wander from our path. But when we can hold a vision of purpose safe no matter what...it deepens within us and ensures that we will honor it when the moment is right." - Jeff Brown
